On the open day on 16.12.2023, ONMU hosted an exhibition of author's works of ship models of a member of the Department of Shipbuilding and Ship Repair named after Prof. Y.L. Vorobyov (DSiS) of ONMU, Akimov Igor Alexandrovich - a multiple champion of Ukraine, Europe and the World in ship modeling.
Marine ship modeling is a fascinating art of creating miniature models of ships, yachts and other marine vessels. It is a creative process that requires precision, attention to detail, and a thorough study of the history and architecture of various types of ships. A variety of materials such as wood, metal, plastic, and fabric are used to create ship models, which adds variety to the creative process. Ship modeling allows you to plunge into the world of maritime adventures and historical events, as well as develops patience and skill. When a model of a ship or yacht is recreated with love for details, it becomes not only a beautiful object, but also a source of inspiration and admiration for maritime enthusiasts.
It is planned to open a small fleet workshop for schoolchildren and applicants on the basis of the DSiS at ONMU in the spring.
Goals and objectives of the studio workshop:
- Study of the world history of shipbuilding and ship repair;
- Study of the structure and architecture of ships of all types;
- Practical large-scale modeling of ships and ship mechanisms of varying degrees of complexity.
